About Born Scum

Born Scum is an independent apparel company based in Boise, Idaho, specializing in heavyweight graphic t-shirts, flannels, motorcycle apparel, gloves, and in-house screen printing. Since 2013, we've built everything around one simple idea: make the kind of clothing we actually want to wear.

Born Scum started because Shea couldn't find graphic t-shirts that felt right. Everything looked the same, fit the same, and was made to be replaced after a few washes. Instead of settling, he bought a few screens, some ink, and started printing shirts himself with about $300. There were no investors, no giant corporation, and no marketing agency deciding what came next. Just a willingness to build something from the ground up.

What started in a bedroom has grown into an independent clothing brand serving customers across the United States while staying true to the same values it was built on. More than a decade later, Born Scum is still independently owned, still family operated, and still making products for people who appreciate quality over trends.

Printed In House in Boise, Idaho

Every Born Scum t-shirt is printed in-house at our Boise, Idaho shop. We don't outsource our screen printing, and we don't send artwork to third-party printers. Every design is printed by our own team using professional screen printing equipment, premium inks, and strict quality standards before it ever reaches your doorstep.

The same people printing your shirts are the ones mixing ink, burning screens, loading presses, packing orders, answering customer emails, and keeping the shop running every day. Keeping production in-house gives us complete control over quality and allows us to create apparel we're proud to put our name on.

We believe a great t-shirt should last for years, not months. That's why Born Scum focuses on heavyweight apparel, premium fabrics, and durable screen printing that holds up through everyday wear.

Every product is designed with durability, comfort, and everyday use in mind because clothing should work as hard as the people wearing it.

We aren't interested in disposable fashion or chasing fast-moving trends. We'd rather build clothing that becomes your favorite shirt after hundreds of wears.

Inspired by the Things We Actually Live

Born Scum has always been influenced by motorcycles, hardcore, punk, heavy music, skateboarding, BMX, tattoos, blue-collar work, and the people behind those communities. Those influences naturally shape our artwork, our products, and the way we operate, but you don't need to ride a motorcycle to wear Born Scum.

Our customers include mechanics, welders, electricians, construction workers, first responders, military members, musicians, tattoo artists, gym-goers, business owners, and anyone who appreciates well-made clothing without unnecessary hype.

Still Independent Since 2013

More than ten years later, Born Scum continues to operate from Boise, Idaho with the same mindset that started the company. We still print our own apparel, still create our own artwork, and still believe that making products ourselves is the best way to control quality.

We're not trying to become the biggest clothing company in the world. Our goal is much simpler. We want to make some of the best heavyweight graphic t-shirts and apparel available while staying independent and continuing to build the brand the same way we always have.
