Born Scum is seeking an experienced Lead Screen Printer for our Boise, Idaho production facility. Professional screen printing experience required.

This is a skilled production position responsible for operating automatic screen printing equipment, maintaining print quality, meeting production expectations, troubleshooting issues, and helping keep daily production running efficiently. This is not an entry level position. Previous professional screen printing experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic screen printing presses

• Print multi color and multi location production jobs

• Complete front and back printing efficiently and accurately

• Register screens and prepare jobs for production

• Review work orders and confirm garments, inks, screens, quantities, and print specifications before production begins

• Maintain consistent print placement, ink coverage, color, and overall quality

• Perform quality checks throughout production runs

• Identify and resolve registration, ink, screen, dryer, and print quality issues

• Make press adjustments as necessary to maintain production standards

• Monitor dryer temperatures and curing requirements

• Minimize misprints, spoilage, and unnecessary material waste

• Maintain accurate production counts

• Coordinate with production assistants to maintain efficient workflow

• Provide direction and training to apprentices and production support staff as assigned

• Maintain clean and organized presses and production areas

• Assist with screen preparation, ink management, and other production responsibilities when necessary

• Follow established production procedures and safety requirements

• Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and workflow delays promptly

Performance Standards

Performance will be evaluated based on print quality, production output, setup efficiency, accuracy, spoilage rates, ability to meet production deadlines, equipment care, attendance, organization, and adherence to established production procedures.

Qualifications

• Professional automatic screen printing experience required

• Strong understanding of screen registration and press setup

• Experience printing multi color production jobs

• Ability to troubleshoot common screen printing and production issues independently

• Strong understanding of ink application, curing, and print quality

• Ability to read and follow production work orders accurately

• Strong attention to detail and quality control

• Ability to work efficiently in a high volume production environment

• Strong organization and time management skills

• Dependable attendance and punctuality

• Ability to provide clear direction to production support staff

• Experience with automatic presses strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday

• Ability to safely handle screens, ink, garments, boxes, and production supplies
